ALCA (Avon Local Councils Association) is a member organisation run by and for its member Parish and Town Councils and Parish Meetings (referred to as local councils), within the Unitary areas of Bath and North East Somerset (B&NES), North Somerset (NS), South Gloucestershire (SG) and Bristol City. However, currently there are no parish and town councils within Bristol City or the City of Bath.

It is our aim to REPRESENT, ADVISE, CONSULT, COMMUNICATE, TRAIN, INFORM and LISTEN to all councils but in particular our members. As the voice of local councils we welcome ideas and seek thoughts from all on the way forward.

Member councils very in size from the Parish Meeting of St Catherine’s with an electorate of 44 the smallest in the area to Weston super Mare the largest local council in England with an electorate of approximately 53,730. However ALCA seeks to uphold the interests of this diverse membership.
