Following Lobby Day, Essex ALC spoke with MP’s about the issues around banking for local councils and the difficulties in regards to changes with bank mandates under the system, which does not account for the changes in Clerk or Councillor position. MP John Baron understood our frustration and wrote to the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rishi Sunak on behalf of the Essex Association, and all local councils across the country.

NALC's Make A Change campaign encourages people from all backgrounds and experiences to get involved with their local council and consider putting themselves forward for election to help make the council more representative of the community.

Cllr Gail Boyle, Chair of ALCA, was invited to present the Local Council Award Scheme Gold Award certificate to Bradley Stoke Town Council, at their meeting on 30th March 2022. The Gold Award is the highest level of achievment for a local council and only awarded to those operating at the highest level of excellence.
