ALCA provides training under the 'National Improvement Strategy for Parish and Town Councils'

The National Training Strategy (NTS) represents a national commitment to training in the local council sector shared by national, regional and local stakeholder organisations. The purpose of the Strategy is to offer training to councils in order for them to make the most of their role and carry out their duties more easily.

PLEASE NOTE

The Essential Councillor and Planning in Plain English sessions can be delivered at your venue for all the councillors (or up to 15 participants if you are working with other councils).

Dates can be booked at your convenience with the trainer. Flat fee of £275 + travel. 

We have an agreement with sector finance experts The Parkinson Partnership (TPP) for local council finance training covering a range of topics in any given year. Their finance training calendar is organised according to the upcoming priorities for local councils e.g. budget training will be in the Autumn and concludes just before the New Year and Year End finance preparation in the Spring.

There are morning and evening courses that last two hours. Each course is £35 per place (£70 for non-members).

Cancellation – the full course fee will be payable if advice of cancellation is not received by ALCA at least five working days prior to the course date
